Effect of non-uniform radiation on the exchange of heat between the opposite surfaces in a closed space-room

Dimitrije Lilić

If energy reflected or radiated from a sur face in a closed space-room for which heat balance is being formed does not have a uniform character, the sur face may be divided into smaller sur faces of approximately uniform characteristics. A part of the uniform difused radiation falling from one sur face onto another is defined as geometrical factor of radiation between the sur faces. The effect of non-uniform radiation from one sur face on the exchange of heat between the oppsite sur faces was being observed through the interactive change of the geometrical factors of radiation. This work lays aut the basic theoretical postulates, as well as the geometrical factors of radiation for the surfaces under observation and their parts calculated according to the formed mathematical model, their mutual dependance presented through tables and graphs. Obtained values can be applied to all relative relations of surface dimensions. Expression has been derived for determining geometrical factors of radiation for two parallel rectangular surfaces of different size and parallel sides, as well as an expression for calculating geometrical factors of radiation for a group of surfaces with uniform characteristics and applied to percieving the effect of doors and windows on the exchange of heat through radiation with apposite surfaces of the room.
