SOLVING INTERIOR BALLISTIC PROBLEMS USING A TWO-PHASE MODEL

The study presents a theoretical model of the two-phase flow of solid granular propellant and its combustion products in the gun barrel during a complete interion ballistic cycle of the primer holder-ignited ammunition. The theoretical model comprises balance equations of mass and energy, momentum and energy of both phases as well as necessary constitutive laws.The interaction of flow in the igniter and the propellant chamber is enabled by inbuilding a two-phase flow model of igniter functioning.
