LIAPUNOV STABILITY OF LINEAR AUTONOMOUS SINGULAR SYSTEMS: RETROSPECTIVE OF RESULTS

Singular systems are mathematically presented as a combination of differential and algebraic equations, the latter being a constraint which ought to be satisfied by a general solution at any moment. Numerous singular systems appear in almost all engineering branches. A detailed chronological survey of results concerning Liapunov stability of this system class has been given in the paper. Numerous definitions have been cited and, through selectively chosen theorems, the paper gives adequate stability conditions, boundary stability and unstability of autonomous, linear and continuous (both regular and irregular) singular systems.
