The paper gives a contemporary approach to the causes of low-frequency and high-frequency unstability of the combustion process in rocket motor chambers with solid composite propellants. The forming of acoustic unstability, caused by the oscillatory disturbances of the pressure in the chamber, has been analysed. A mathematical model with certain limitations and simplificatons has been determined. A solution of the given partial differential equation has been given, enabling the determination of frequencies and sound waves shapes for a cylindrical chamber, closed on both ends and without nozzles.
