Novel technoloGY IN HYBRID DRIVETRAIN DESIGN – WIND POWER INDUSTRY EXAMPLE

Abstract:  While research results in the field of wind power electricity generation keep pace with stringent industrial requirements, the rate of emerging engineering challenges imposes development process in the ready set go manner. One of the consequences in such collaboration may be the lack of objectivity – highlighting certain research area or in the extreme case deflection from the basic functional requirements in WT drive train design. In present paper is given a proposal of novel drive train technology – gear transmission unit with continual variation of transmission ratio. Design methodology and working principle of new hybrid system (mechanical, electronic and software system), provide direct synchronization to public electric grid, efficient energy conversion and wider operating range of WT rotor.
