Abstract: In order to make a better insight into the reception process of items into the military warehouse and to identify where bottlenecks appear and what are the magnitudes and places of congestions, we have decided to use simualtion modeling, to make simualtion model and to resolve this problem. For this task few things are needed: previous practical experience in warehousing processes as well as basic knowledge about methodology of simulation modeling. This two components are crucial for creation of a conceptual model of the proces under study. Sometmes neglected, conceptual modeling in simulation gained additional attention of researchers in last few years. Conceptual model is a bridge between real world systems and processes and computer programs which simulate those real systems. Conceptual modeling is more art than science, which means that it is permanent challenge for researchers, and it is unique endeavor in each new simualtion modeling project. In that sense, conceptual modeling is hard subject for standardization, however, some novel research efforts tend to establish recommendations and clarifications of the place and role of the conceptual modeling in the wider context of simulation modeling. In this paper we presented the way of development of a conceptual model of the reception proces in a military warehouse.

Keywords: simulation, conceptual model, military, logistics.
