Abstract: Development of a new and compact signal amplifier unit for the ICTM‑CMT mercury vapor sensor is presented. The mercury sensor has already been developed at ICTM‑CMT and its functionality was tested and documented. The sensor is capable of sensing mercury concentrations below 1000 ng/m3. It is also capable of continuous monitoring of mercury concentration in air thanks to the special algorithm developed at ICTM‑CMT. This work is a part of our new effort towards making a compact and portable device for monitoring of the mercury vapor concentration in air in both industrial and natural environments. Sensor platforms like this could have a significant role in environmental remediation in cases of industrial accidents caused by human errors, natural disasters or war.

Keywords: sensor, mercury, amplifier, housing.
