Hardware-In-the-Loop Dynamic Performance QUALITATIVE Testing of a Two-axes Gimbaled Actively Stabilized TV Homing Head

Abstract: This paper presents one method for dynamic performance testing of a two-axes gimbaled actively stabilized TV homing head. For Hardware-In-the-Loop motions simulation, the Five-axis flight motions simulator is used to induce missile motion (yaw, pitch, roll) and target motion (azimuth, elevation). The built-in MEMS gyro is tested first for accuracy in open loop mode. In tracking mode, the zero line-of-sight rate was tested in presence of missile motion disturbance, and finally the line-of-sight rate was tested for different sinusoidal target motions in order to determine bandwidth and frequency response.
