an example of Radar waveform generator design and implementation on fpga

Abstract: In this paper, a realization of radar waveform generator on FPGA is considered. The architecture of the proposed radar waveform generator consists of ROM, DAC controller and DAC. Generator is designed and implemented using system-level tool for digital signal processing hardware design – System Generator. Beside of base-band I/Q waveform generation, system provides control signal for phase intra-pulse modulation radar RF signal by phase modulation. Performance of the system is tested in laboratory by experiments using additional equipment including oscilloscope, phase modulator, microwave signal generator and signal analyzer.
