Abstract: Because the Vacuum Stability Test (VST) is promising method for chemical stability assessment of nitrocellulose based propellants, review of criteria is made based on correlation between results obtained by several different testing methods as well as review of criteria accepted by some countries. Some conclusions about the criteria for chemical stability of propellants according to VST are made in connection with results obtained by Heat Flow Calorimetry, Heat Storage Test and Stabilizer Consumption Methods.

Keywords: chemical stability, propellant, Vacuum Stability Test.
