SIMULATION APPROACH TO COMMUNICATION NETWORKS TWO-TERMINAL RELIABILITY AND AVAILABILITY ESTIMATION

Abstract: An approach to two-terminal reliability (2TR) and availability (2TA) estimation of communication networks consisting of repairable nodes and links by means of computer simulation has been presented. The necessary definitions have been given, as well as the simulation model elements, the algorithms of the realized simulators for 2TA and 2TR estimation and an example with a brief analysis of the experiments results. The realized simulators can be used in communication networks early conception phases, as well as in their exploitation and maintenance planning.
