Abstract: Two so called „thin wall test tubes“ (wall thickness less than 2 mm) and two so called „thick wall test tubes“ (wall thickness higher than 2 mm) were produced by filament winding technology of glass roving impregnated by polyester resin system. Mentioned test tubes were exposed to the influence of internal hydraulic pressure. Radial deformations of four filament wound test tubes were measured by strain gauges and internal hydraulic pressure was recorded by piezoelectric pressure converter. Elastic deformations and elastic limit, as well as hydraulic pressures causing corresponding phenomena, were determined. Testing processes were ended by determining  deformations and hydraulic pressure at the moment of burst of four test tubes.

Key words: polymeric composites, filament winding technology, tubes, elastic characteristics,  internal hydraulic pressure.
