Abstract: Based on the world’s situation analysis in the field of respiratory protection, it has been noted that the quality of the domestic protective masks of the second and third generation, which members of the Serbian army are presently eqipped with, is outdated by the fourth generation of masks which are used by modern armies. Due to this, a new domestic protective mask MZ M3 has been developed, and it is expected to match the level of the protective masks of the fourth generation in terms of its tactical and technical properties. Conducting the experimental comparative analysis, it has been proved that the requirements have been met.

Key words: protective mask M3, foreign military protective masks, comparative analysis
