Abstract: The Metasploit  framework is a development platform, written in the Ruby including components written in C and Assembler programming language which provides a solid environment for penetration testing of modern information systems. We will consider this openly available resource in this paper using  the SIFT Workstation trying to point out the possibilities that this tool as an integrated IDS and forensic tool provides. SANS Investigative Forensic Toolkit (SIFT) Workstation is a Linux distribution that is preconfigured for forensic investigations which can  be utilized via  preferred version of VMW are or also downloaded  as a DVD.iso should we choose to install it as a standalone workstation.
