Abstract:  Flat sheet Al-Mg metal blanks (AlMg3, AlMg4.5Mn, AlMg6Mn) were subjected to different forming process: shear spinning and cold rolling. The mechanical properties and microstructure of tested alloys have been studied by means of tensile testing, hardness measurement and optical metallography. The addition of Mg in Al-Mg alloys increases the strength in both cold rolled and spun specimens. The strength of Al-Mg alloys after shear spinning was lower in comparison to the strength after cold rolling for the same reductions. This effect was attributed to the occurrence of dynamic recovery during shear spinning.
