Abstract:  Tungsten heavy alloys, primarily are used for making core or body of high kinetic energy subcaliber tank projectile. Four rods of tungsten alloys (alloying systems W/Ni-Co and W/Ni-Fe-Co), obtained by specific techniques of powder metallurgy, cold isostatically pressed and sintered in the liquid phase were investigated. Heat treated samples were deformed by cold rolling with thickness reduction from 10 to 40% and investigated by means of optical and scanning electron microscopy, micro-and macrohardness measurement. Correlation between chemical composition, plastic deformation, microstructure and hardness was suggested. The mechanism of strain hardening was described and pointed out the possibility of further improvement of the functional properties of heavy alloys for the production of the body or core subcaliber projectile
