Abstract:  Cylinder test is the established method for determination of energetic properties of explosives and equation of state of detonation products. Analytical approach to the cylinder expansion test modeling is discussed. New model for computation of parameters of Jones-Wilkins-Lee (JWL) equation of state from cylinder test is presented. Numerical analysis of cylinder test is performed using Abaqus – commercial general purpose FEM-based program. Results of analytical and numerical calculations are compared with available experimental data
