Generation of a numerical deformable mesh and its application in the unsteady two-dimensional flow analysis

Mirko Kozić

A numerical method for the generation of the unstructured deformable mesh which follows body deformation and movement is presented, enabling analysis of oscillations of airfoil as a rigid body, control surface oscillations and airfoil contour deformation. The unstructured deformable grid is applied in the analysis of unsteady transonic two-dimensional flows governed by the Euler equations that are solved using the finite volume method. Comparisons made with the results of other numerical methods have demonstrated good agreement.
