COMPARING PROPERTIES OF HIGH ENERGY EXPLOSIVES KETO-RDX AND NITROAMIN EXPLOSIVES HEXOGEN AND OCTOGEN

This papaer presents a new ket-RDX explosive synthetise from relatively cheap raw materials, with nitrourea as base of the nitro group. Explosives, both cyclic and linear, based on nitrourea, manifest abundant energetic properties. However, compared to the known nitroamins explosives, hexogen and octogen, the keto-RDX compound is lacking some of widely exploited explosives' desired properties. Its sensitivness to mechanic stimulation is great. Which limits its application as a high energy explosive.
