Analogous processors with surface acoustic waves

Zdravko R. Živković

The principles of development and implementation of processors with chirp filters with sur face acoustic waves (SAW) are presented. The analysis of their working principles has shown that in specific configurations of these analogous processors, a complex signal processing in a wide frequency range (dozens of MHz) can be per formed, which makes them suitable for applying in radars, sonars and communication devices. Further more, the possibility of applying SAW processors as spectral and network analysers has been taken into consideration. Finally, it is presented how some more sophisticated functions of signal processing such as kepstral analysis and adaptive filtering, can be realised  through combining a number of processors.
