Determination of the maintenance system influencing factors based on modeling and simulation

There are numerous factors of influence on performance of maintenance systems. In this paper they are identified and its influence is measured by strength, way and its form on the performance parameters in two real multilevel maintenance systems. Influencing factors determination and investigation of its strength, way and form can have application in the cost/benefit analysis for all kinds of investment.The results could eliminate some costly investigations or reduce them in time by indicating the best ways of improving performance of analyzed systems. It could also indicate, by form, the ”moment” when any further investment is no longer worth the effort (payable). A shedule of improvement steps can also be made. Complexity, stochastic and unstationary process characters and a large number of influencing factors make modeling and simulation a basis of investigation methodology tools. It is described in detail.
