EFFICIENCY EVALUATION OF DEPLETED URANIUM PROJECTILES

For the efficiency evaluation of depleted uranium armor-piercing kinetic energy projectiles, the comparison method of projectile and target material value of state and movement, in the moment of shock, is applied. The mathematical model of the projectile normal-impact into a target in rest is developed. The parameters for the projectiles manufactured of steel, tung-sten-carbide, tungsten and uranium-mollbdenum alloy, and for the steel target are calculated numerically, the Hugoniot equations of state of materials being chosen from [1]. The state parameters are expressed as a function of impact velocity in the interval from 500 to 2000 m/s...
