PYROTECHNIC IGNITION MIXTURES BASED ON POLYTETRAFLUORETHYLENE

Pyrotechnic ignition mixtures based on polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE) as an oxydizer represent prosperous compositions for rocket propellant ignition. The results of testing burning characteristics of different compositions by varying the content of components and their granulation have been presented. It was established that magnesium /PTFE/ viton A (fluorel)-based mixtures can be successfully applied to ignite some particular types of rocket propellants.
