Composite explosives based upon pentrite and polyurethane binder were artifically aged at 60˚C and 80˚C. During aging the polymer component degraded  faster than pentrite. Aging effects on the samples of composite explosives were examined using DSC. Aging efects on the binder extraced from composite explosives were monitored using infrared spectro-photometry. The decomposition reactions were aproximately of ther zero order. IR analysis of the binder has shown that there are some changes in the shape and size of peaks, the tearing of some peaks.
