CONTRIBUTION OF SOLAR RADIATION THROUGH GLASS SURFACES TO THE HEAT BALANCE OF VESSEL INTERIOR

Dimitrije Lilić

Solar radiation falling on vessel glass surfaces is partially reflected, partially absorbed by glass and a part penetrates through the glass. The penetration of solar radiation through glass surfaces of a vessel depends on a number of factors such as: geographical position of the vessel location, vessel orientation, position of glass surfaces on a vessel, position of the Sun at the particular moment, intensity of direct and diffuse solar radiation on glass surfaces, solar radiation reflection from the water surface, glass type and thickness, size and shade of glass surfaces, etc. The complex interaction of relevant parameters is treated by a formed mathematical model and a computer program.
