The paper discusses experimental data concerning testing of a rocket model with the semispherical nose with and without a needle. The model has been tested in the T-36 trissonic wind funnel. The Mach number was M=1,9, the Reynolds number MRE=0,38 while the model attack angle changed in the range with the 2° step. The air flow field visualisation has been carried out by the Schlieren method. It has been pointed out that the needle has a significant effect on the increase of rocket aerodynamic characteristics. The conclusions have been illustrated by Schlieren photos.
