EFFECTS OF ROTARY FORGING ON THE STRUC-TURE AND THE PROPERTIES OF W-Ni-Fe HEAVY METAL ALLOYS

The paper presents results of testing the effects of cold deformation degree due to rotary forging on structure, physical and mechanical properties of the 92.5W-5Ni-2.5Fe heavy metal alloy. Tensile and toughness tests have shown that strength grows intensively with the deformation degree increase while ductility and toughness are reduced. The hardness distribution nonhomageneity on the cross section and the hardening rate of alloys and microconstituents have been tested. Changes of macro and microhardness have been modelled in relation to degrees of cold plastic deformation...
