The initiation and propagation resistance of ductile cracks under high-rate dynamic loading can be quantified by the dynamic resistance curve, which is an important element for the characterization of metallic materijals. The parper gives a survey of methods applied, such as the Chipperfield Arrest Technique, the stop-load test, the low-blow test and the cleavage resistance Technique, the stop-load test, the low-blow test and the cleavage resistance ccurve in the transition temeperature range. The estimation of resistance curve by the single speciment direct current potential drop method, developed in the VTI laboratory, is presented in particular. The analysis of  advantages and disadvanteges of these different  methods confirmed the advantages of the proposed method for dynamic resistance curve evaluation.
