BASIC DESIGN CRITERIA OF FLYING VEHICLE MODELS FOR AERODYNAMICAL TESTS IN TRISONIC BLOW-DOWN WIND TUNNEL

Blizanac Borivoj

The flying vehicle models are intended for aerodynamic tests in blow-down wind tunnel where aerodynamic forces and moments are measured for a large range of Mach numbers. A lot of parameters which influence the model design process are determined by the characteristics of the particular wind tunnel. The basic model design parameters affected by the particular wind tunnel characteristics are model dimensions, angle of attack range, Reynold’s number maximal value and transient aerodynamic loads obtained during the start and stop of the wind tunnel operation.
