SCIENTIFIC TECHNICAL REVIEW (STR)   as a primary scientific review embracing military technology and science publishes papers classified according to the UNESCO standard under the following categories:

  • ORIGINAL SCIENTIFIC PAPERS recording results of original work,

  • PRELIMINARY COMMUNICATIONS recording scientific results which require urgent publishing,

  • SURVEY PAPERS representing a survey of a field or a problem based on already published material which is here collected, analyzed and commented,

  • PROFESSIONAL PAPERS representing a valuable contribution to the profession but not based on original research,

  • COMMUNICATIONS on scientific and professional meetings.

Reports by referees are obligatory for all papers submitted to the Editor, except for communications on scientific or professional meetings, thus providing a high scientific and professional level of published papers.

The review was first published in 1950 under the title PREGLED NAUCNIH NOVOSTI IZ VOJNE LITERATURE and after eight years it changed the title into PREGLED VOJNIH DOSTIGNUCA. In 1963 the title was again changed into NAUCNO TEHNICKI INFORMATIVNI PREGLED. Since 1966 the review has been published under the present title, 10 issues annually, 70 80 pages each issue.

The main purpose of the review is to offer the possibility to researches in research institutes and other institutions in the Yugoslav Army to publish, in due time, results of their own research and achievements of importance for disciplines of weaponry and military equipment.
