Abstract

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are remotely piloted or self-piloted aircrafts that can carry cameras, sensors, communications equipment, missiles or other payloads. A method for the estimation of performances of medium range Unmanned Aerial Vehicles with piston-engine is presented in this paper. “White Eagle 2” computer programme is used for the calculation of basic and special performances. “White Eagle 2” calculates takeoff, minimum speed, climb, cruise, maximum speed, turn, landing and flight profiles. The method and its results are illustrated by a numerical example. A significant contribution of this paper is the addition with the “White Eagle 2” computer programme. However, the original programme “White Eagle 2” which is the property of the Military Technical Institute, Belgrade, Serbia is not included. The computer programme “White Eagle 2” is programmed in „MathCad 14“.
