Abstract: A number of standard wind tunnel models are presented in this scientific technical information, mostly those used for verification of wind tunnel measurements in the Experimental Aerodynamics Laboratory of the Military Technical Institute (VTI), Belgrade. The concepts and basic purpose of standard models are explained. Among the presented models are AGARD-B/AGARD-C, ONERA-M, HB-1/HB-2, BFM/MBFM, SDM, NACA0012 etc. Geometrical definitions of the models, areas of application of particular models, examples of model designs, and a selection of reference results both from VTI and other wind tunnel facilities are given.

Testing of standard models is a part of work cycle of every wind tunnel. It is essential for verification of correct operation of a new wind tunnel, assessment of effects of modifications of existing installations, verification of new measurement techniques, identification of problems in a wind tunnel system and periodical testing of wind tunnel functionality. The most important aspect in a standard wind tunnel model application is the inter-facility comparison of obtained results and, increasingly so, verification of CFD codes.
