GEARMOTORS WITH LOW
BACKLASH IN ARMY ENGINEERING

Apstrakt:
Low backlash gear reducers are mechanisms widely used in mechanical
engineering, primarily in machine tools for accurate positioning of tools
during manufacturing, in measuring machines, scanners and radars for
accurate transmission of motion, in robotics for accurate positioning of
nippers and other
working parts, and particularly in military engineering (with artillery
tools and rocket launchers) to capture the correct angle and elevation angle
in azimuth, aviation, etc.
It is known that low backlash gear reducers are all those gear units where
the arc
backlash is less than 10 angular minutes, though for accurate positioning
(1m to
1km) the arc backlash is only slightly greater than 3 angular minutes. This
paper
describes the universal low backlash trunks, their structure, functioning,
ways of
securing low backlash, methods of selection, installation, monitoring,
servicing,
maintenance, defect, repair and, finally, their way of recycling.
This paper could provide useful information to designers of military
equipment and
weaponry.
