DRIVE AND TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS AS AN IMPORTANT FACTOR IN OBTAINING OPTIMUM CHARACTERISTICS AND AN OPTIMUM LAYOUT OF COMBAT TRACKED VEHICLES

Abstract
This information describes parametres important from the standpoint of mobility as one of the basic characteristics of combat tracked vehicles. The possibility of achieving maximum speed in various off-road conditions and the determination of power transmission efficiency were analysed in detail.
The development of engine and transmissions is given in the paper together with the analysis of some solutions. The influence of drive and transmission systems and of each important component on the vehicle layout optimization and on obtaining satisfactory characteristics was analysed in detail.
