APPLICATION AND LOADING OF GRANULAR HIGH EXPLOSIVES

Summary
Formulations based on high explosives for compression: PETN, RDX, HMX have been studied. Natural and synthetic waxes, as well as polymers are used as flegmatizers. Their characteristics (particle size of explosive crystals and bonded explosives, bulk density, high density, compressibility and detonation velocities) were evaluated. Loading procedures are presented. An analytical model was presented, describing the density inside the cylindrical charge. The experimental data shows good agreement.
