Abstract

The objective of this cumulative scientific-technical information is to present the state of the art in the domain of fuzzy control applications. Fuzzy control is a very interesting research domain. Recent developments of computer science, especially of artificial intelligence, have offered new approaches to solving problems of different kinds, which can be applied in various domains. In a subbranch of artificial intelligence, in soft computing, there is a number of techniques also applicable in the system control, in the control of processes which are complex, ill-defined or with expressed nonlinearity, and in the cases in which standard analytical control techniques cannot be applied, or even in processes which can be modeled in the classical way. This information gives the basic theoretical considerations, on which the development of fuzzy-logical controllers is based. The definition of fuzzy-logical controllers is explained, as well as the way of their functioning, and their applicability in practice. The survey of some real applications of fuzzy-logical controllers, based on the published results on implementations of such systems, is given. The survey is related to some possible military, as well as general purpose applications , and it includes the application of fuzzy controllers in automatic train control, in real-time target-tracking control systems, in automotive engineering and some other applications. The conclusions and the list of used references are given.
